Dynamics of Western Pacific Subtropical High that Shapes Predictability of Summer Monsoon and Tropical Storms

Professor Bin WANG is a talented scientist well equipped with intensive and extensive research experiences on ocean and earth science. He has been devoted to research on climate and atmospheric dynamics, specifically, prediction of seasonal climate and monsoon systems, oscillations of intraseasonal   and  El  Niño – Southern,  and 
ocean-atmosphere cycles and interactions. His innovations have been significantly contributing to the world understanding of ocean processes and climate. 

Professor WANG has shared the wealth of his expertise and depth of his insights through more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and pivotal participation in international scientific conferences as well as contributions to the leadership in climate and monsoon research community. His publications have been highly cited with 86 papers having more than 100 citations each (Google Scholar).and total citation over 25,000.  

Because of his outstanding performance, Professor WANG has received a number of  awards and recognitions. He was elected as a Fellow of American Geophysical Union (2013) and a Fellow of American Meteorological Society (2009). In addition, he was awarded the University of Hawaii “Board of Regent’s Medal for Excellence in Research (2013) and the “Scientist of the Year” Award (2011-2012).
